Mission Viejo High School Lacrosse: ex-Marine Snipers Need Not Apply

"Fx@#%**"

(Just what does an angry lacrosse coach yell at his players?)

As anyone who has ever played or (in my case) tried out for high school football can attest, the coaches tend to be like drill sergeants. I certainly cannot speak for lacrosse since I had never even heard of it when I was in high school. Anyway, this morning's edition of the Orange County Register has a disturbing story about a local high school that told a volunteer asst. lacrosse coach that his services were no longer needed. He believes his service as a Marine sniper was the reason.

My advice to Eric Freedman is to re-apply and put down that he is a communist. That should ensure his quick acceptance.

It would be interesting to know why he thinks so, and whether there is a "nonpretextual reason" offered by the school. Like any illegitimate form of discrimination, this may be exactly what it is claimed to be, or it may be a convenient excuse the coach has picked up on to puff up his ego.

Just like, there are many incidents of genuine racism in employment decisions, and, someone who darned well ought to be fired, if they happen to have dark skin, will claim racism just to see what kind of mileage they can get off of it.
