Shooting in Hollywood

The above video is taken from Creeping Shariah

Today, LAPD cops shot and killed a man who was walking around the intersection off Sunset and Vine in Hollywood, shooting at passing drivers. One victim is in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the jaw.

LAPD officers run with guns drawn to the suspected gunman after the shooting spree on Vine Street in Hollywood.

The shooter has now been identified as 26-year-old Tyler Brehm. His motive is not known, but there are different accounts as to what he was shouting as he randomly fired at people. The above KTLA video includes one witness stating (at the 2:42 mark) that the shooter was yelling, "Allahu Akbar". The below news account, says only that he was yelling, "Shoot me", and "I'm gonna die." It has also been reported that he had just broken up with his girlfriend.

Here is what is intriguing. The above KTLA video, in which one eyewitness mentions the "Allahu Akbar" shouts, is spreading across the blogosphere. Many bloggers are claiming that it is the only news account that mentions this. The LA Times, CBS, Reuters and others make no mention of it. The question is why. Below is what is appearing on KTLA's online page.

Strange. Nevertheless, let's see how this develops before rushing to conclusions. Let's also keep an eye to see what KTLA does with the above video.

Seems to me that the most well documented expression of faith in all this was "Holy ----!" The next best first hand report was "Blam! Blam!" The rest is second and third hand speculative hype. For you to even raise it as a report, even on a personal blog, is ludicrous. He MIGHT have said "al-Lah-u-akbar." Or he might have said "All to the bar." Or he might have said anything under the son. What did that beefy Texas down home truck driver say a few years back, when he drove into the window of a restaurant and started shooting all the customers, because he was having trouble with the IRS?

Well, it seems no further evidence has come to light for this shabby shibboleth. Better luck with your spin next time.
