CAIR Speakers Rip Into Muslim Moderates

Hat tip to Squid

Why do CAIR representatives and speakers attack Muslim Americans who are true moderates? David Rusin, writing in the blog, Islamist Watch, has a logical reason. (Islamist Watch is part of the Middle East Forum.)

(Apologies; I am working on a lap-top and having a Hell of a time doing the linking function.)

It is certainly questionable that organizations like CAIR, created by the Muslim Brotherhood, would be considered so moderate and mainstream when they condemn people like Zuhdi Jasser and Tawfik Hamid, both Muslims who tell the truth about the radical threat, and both of whom are linked on this site. And about that language-"Uncle Tom" and "Sock Puppet"? Does that sound like moderate language to you?

Duwud Walid happens to be the CAIR leader for Michigan. This is not the first time he has made incendiary statements. He has all but accused the FBI of murdering radical and violent imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah in a 2009 shoot-out. (Luqman pulled a gun and began shooting when the FBI came to arrest him. He shot and killed a police dog before he was struck down.)

This is the nature of those so-called Muslim leaders who condemn the true moderates. By the way, in the above link, I urge you to read a linked article by another moderate Muslim, Khalid Duran, who describes how he was treated by CAIR.

There are legitimate questions about CAIR, but annointing your own preferred spokespeople as "The Moderate Muslims" is no more legitimate. Any authentic Muslim spokesperson would have to draw their authenticity from the respect Muslims have for them, not the respective conservative southern California Methodists have for them.

When is the last time anyone debate who "speaks for the Methodists"? Decades, because there are known to be several denominations of Methodists, and within each, nobody pretends to agree on much of anything except the articles of faith. Your "true" Muslims are no more "representative" than the self-appointed guardians of CAIR.
