San Juan Capistrano City Council Meeting Talks Abouts Dogs

Recently, I posted a story about San Juan Capistrano City Councilman Derek Reeve, who remarked at a meeting that he had named his dog Mohammed, prompting gasps from a couple of his colleagues and a protest from Southern California CAIR director Hussam Ayloush. This past Tuesday, the issue was up for public discussion at the council meeting.

At the meeting about 12 community members spoke in support of Reeve, also educating the council about what CAIR truly represents. Reeve, for his part, stuck by his guns and refused to be pressured by CAIR and their minions to apologize.

Meanwhile, Fox's Bill O'Oreilly has labeled Reeve a "pinhead". In response, Reeve now calls himself, "a proud pinhead".

Since I am traveling and using an iPad, I will have more to say on this story next week. My problem is that I am just learning to use my cousin's iPad, and don't know how to cut and paste. (I know. I am a pinhead, right?)

One does NOT name his dog Muhammad! One names his pot belly pig or teddy bear Muhammad.

I haven't tried to use an iPad at all, or a Blackberry, so if I'm not a pinhead, you're not either.

I don't know why it is any business of the city council WHAT a council member names his dog, unless he brings it to a meeting, and I bet dogs are banned from city buildings unless they are working assistance dogs.

Personally, I believe dogs should be banned from public streets and sidewalks, and it should be a misdemeanor to keep one within city limits unless the owner has at least two acres of private fenced land for it to run around on. I don't care what the dog is named.

If I had a dog and named it Hitler, would I be a neo-Nazi, or would I be insulting the sacred memory of der Feuhrer?

Word Ver: parverty
That's how they pronounce "chronic lack of money" is some state or other.

Findalis, what would you think of naming a pig "Moses"? Or a pet scallop, crab, or lobster?

Why not? I know someone who named their cat Moshe. Moshe Dayan in fact. We swear he contemplates a preemptive strike on the squirrels.

How about a dog named Jesus? Good name for a Rottweiler.

Cats are not non-kosher last I heard. But as long as we can agree that any name goes for any pet, we can get along.
