Hate Drops in to Visit Columbia University

Hatem Bazian

Next month, the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a militantly anti-Israel student group, will hold a national conference at (surprise, surprise) Columbia University. Daniel Greenfield of  David Horowitz's Freedom Center has written an article on this conference which highlights UC Berkeley professor Hatem Bazian, a Palestinian anti-Israel activist.

In the above article, Greenfield referred to some past comments attributed to Bazian. When he spoke at UCI a couple of years back, I asked him about these reported quotes. You can read my posting on that event below.

Keep in mind, this is the same guy who has recently launched some kind of institute at UC Berkeley to study Islamophobia.

I wonder if the building at Columbia where the conference will take place will have a Jewish name on it.

Sorry to change the subject but what is up with UCI Professor Rei Terada?

First she is video recorded saying the students who repeatedly disrupted Michael Oren's lecture "bring honor to the University."

and now she is saying that their "protest" was a normal protest.

All I can say is that if she can get away with criticizing the administration and other faculty in public then I guess my job is safe.

I read the following in the link you put up and it confirms to what I have experienced in my interactions with the Muslim students at UCI. They have such a warped view of history that it is hard to describe. They juxtapose pictures of a large number of Jews being rounded up during the Holocaust for extermination to a picture of a large number of Palestinians bunched up trying to get INTO Israel.

"SJP uses violent imagery to bypass discussion and skip right to the hate, accusing its opponents of Apartheid, Nazism and genocide to make dialogue impossible. Its extremist speakers use lies and distortions to portray Israel and its supporters as absolute evil to create a hateful worldview."

And dopey universities like Columbia give them a forum.
