Who says a leopard can't change its spots?

Daily Caller is reporting that the Dept of Housing and Urban Development is giving $300,000 to ACORN, uh sorry, AHCOA.

Since ACORN no longer exists, there are by definition no "affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations" of ACORN. If the bully-boys in the House don't like it, they should have carefully arranged to keep a shadow of its former self in existence as a punching bag.

J. Edgar Hoover knew how to do that. By the 1960s, 60% of the members of the Communist Party USA were FBI informers. Hoover at one point arranged to subsidize the party for fear it would collapse, which might threaten the size of his agency's budget.

I notice nothing in this article discusses what the money will be used for, whether it fits the purposes HUD is authorized to award money for, or how it is actually being used.

Siarlys,

The Montreal Expos no longer exist either. They are called the Washington Nationals. Yet, when they moved, the players remained the same. They just had new uniforms. Get it?

And any Canadian laws that might have applied to the Montreal Expos do NOT apply to the Washington Nationals. Nor, to my recollection, did anyone pass a law forbidding the Montreal Expos or any farm team of the Montreal Expos to play in

a) the United States,

b) a baseball stadium under the direction of Major League Baseball.

Further, it IS doubtful that such laws would have applied to the Washington Nationals.

Your analogies show all the profound insight that are reputed to be conferred by taking LSD -- although I wouldn't know from personal experience. The sixties were over before I turned 18. You're a sorry spectacle today.

Are you sure you are on the right thread? Talk about LSD!

I'm not the one who jumped from ACORN to the Montreal Expos.
