Plant it with native California wildflowers, and check back in five years.

Say, isn't that where the airport would have gone, except for this great park?

Then again, it provided some bribes and kickbacks to "the people who know how to get things done. ". According to Nancy Pelosi, all that money is a multiplier that stimulates the economy.... as though any of the career politicians know how to stimulate the economy.

Well Miggie, add them to the list. Business owners don't know how to create jobs, because they've done a great job automating and can make money without hiring people. Financiers don't know how to simulate the economy, because they're too busy building up cash reserves and paying each other fabulous bonuses. There is nothing more hilarious than a retired millionaire offering themselves as qualified to write laws because their opponent "never had to meet a payroll," which isn't always true, but is generally irrelevant. Like Gary says, legislators are measured by how they are going to vote, not how they made their living last year.

Siarlys,
Your " ...Business owners don't know how to create jobs, because they've done a great job automating and can make money without hiring people. Financiers don't know ..." etc. is a truly warped view of reality. It is hard to believe that anyone could go through life, especially in this country, with such a world view.

I thought Obama was hostile to business, but I see that there are people to the Left of him. Amazing! Truly amazing. You would have fit right in the Comintern. If your intention was to shock and dismay, you have succeeded. You are a bitter man, ungrateful man, and there is nothing worse than an ingrate. I'm sorry for you...
