Hat tip to Students for Academic Freedom
Dr Julio Pino, Professor of History at Kent State University
Now I know why they had to send the National Guard to Kent State. If you thought Ward Churchill and Norm Finklestein are horrible examples of what teaches in our universities, you ain't seen nothing yet. Meet Professor of History at Kent State, Julio Pino.

That's the watered down official web page of the "university" that hires this guy. Pino is a Muslim convert, who according to many, supports the Jihad and thinks American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are nothing more than "crusaders".
If you read this article by Mike Adams of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Pino reportedly has much worse terms to apply to our troops.

"Dogs"? C@#%&(*^(*s"?
Did you really say those things about our troops, Dr Pino?
And here is what Discover the Networks says about Dr Pino:

So let me make sure I have this straight. Born in Cuba, loves Castro, came to the US, has enjoyed all the bounty of the US, college educated, teaching at a university, hates the US.
So the obvious jingoistic question is:
Why doesn't he go back to Cuba?
We all know the answer to that, don't we?
"Uhhhh.....yeaaaah."
He doesn't want to give up all the goodies in America to go back and live in squalor. He would rather stay here and rant against us. I know the type. There are plenty of them in our universities teaching our kids that America is such an evil place.
I have belatedly learned that Adams (with whom I have corresponded) has been going back and forth with Pino for a few years now. Of course, the weenies at Kent State, when asked about this character they have teaching students, can only defend his freedom of speech. After all, he's tenured.
And for more laughs, here is the text from the web page for the president of this institution:
President Lester A. Lefton
President's Home Page
"It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Kent State University. The rich history of this extraordinary institution is marked by academic excellence and innovation; a remarkable record of meeting the evolving needs of Northeast Ohio and the nation; and a demonstrated dedication to sharing educational, cultural and recreational resources with a diversity of stakeholders on our eight campuses, across Ohio and far beyond.
...Ours is a dynamic, intellectual community with more than 184,000 alumni worldwide and with many proud traditions. Chief among these is a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning that fosters the success of all students - traditional-age students, working adults and lifelong learners of all kinds. In addition, Kent State is building on its strong foundation of path-breaking research - research with the potential to solve problems and spark economic development. The university has earned national attention for faculty, staff and student innovations in learning technologies, liquid-crystal materials, biomedicine and many other 21st-century fields.
...Both workers needing to upgrade job skills and businesses hunting for a partner that can enhance their organization's knowledge base, operations and global reach seek out Kent State.
......With outstanding academic programs and faculty on the leading edge of their fields, undergraduate and graduate students from around the globe turn to Kent State for a world-class education. In doing so, they make Kent State a truly multicultural community and a microcosm of our global society. Most important, they enrich the lives of our students and our entire region.
I invite you to visit a Kent State campus to see for yourself how much our university community has to offer. In the meantime, I encourage you to explore our user-friendly Web site. Once you do, you will understand my belief that Kent State is one of the best-kept secrets in Ohio!"
(Not any more, Mr Lefton.)

Good job, Mike. The public needs to know about the characters teaching in our universities. Yes, they have freedom of speech, but we can also exercise our freedom of speech to inform.

His courses don't sound very edifying either. The titles remind me of the time I tried to take a course in standard economics, and found it was being taught by a Marxist not much older than me, who began "I don't believe in the capitalist system." Well, I don't either, and at the time, I was not unsympathetic to Marxism, but I wanted a course on how the banks work and what the primary economic theories were, Samuelson and that sort of stuff. If I wanted a course on Marxism, I would have signed up for one.
