It is the year 1938. The California Department of Education, Textbook Review Committee is reviewing new textbooks that would be adopted in the state high school system. The above picture shows the board members posing just after having approved the text for the textbook, "History Today" chapter on Germany.
The chapter is entitled: "Springtime in Germany".
In a prepared statement, the president of the committee, Mr. Caspar Milquetoast stated,
"We want to thank Oberstuermbahnfuehrer, Reinhardt Scheissburger for his imput and advice in formulating the chapter on Germany."

Is this a true story or a satire? It seems impossible but in an infinite universe all things are possible.
Has the picture been manipulated?

The story is so shocking that I thought it could be just a satire to make a point. (You know about the same battle going on now on California textbooks with the Muslims who have inserted and want to insert more positive (and questionable) material on Islam.)
I didn't mean to say you made it up or manipulated a picture. I thought you may have copied a satirical piece with a bizarre photo somewhere for this site and I just didn't pick up on it.
Apparently, the chapter "Springtime in Germany" was inserted into California textbooks and most likely had a very positive view of Hitler's Germany.
I wondered what happened to that textbook and chapter when the War started.

It was precisely the point I wanted to make. Actually, it was kind of like the movie, "Titanic" -fiction inspired by real events. The picture is my creation, a google image of a committee with a nazi inserted. If you were proficient in German, you would know that Scheissburger doesn't exist- except in my sick mind.
