Discrimination in the Dept. of Agriculture

Here is a video of now FORMER USDA official Shirley Sherrod telling an NAACP Freedom Fund dinner audience this past March 27 how she deliberately discriminated against a white farmer. As a result of this video, Ms Sherrod has "resigned" as director of USDA Georgia Rural Development.

First the Dept. of Justice, now the USDA. It is disturbing to say the least. This woman didn't even try to hide it. She boasted of it. If there were any disapproving comments from her NAACP audience, they are not heard here.

In a slightly unrelated matter, since I have been beating up on the NAACP lately for their accusations of racism against the Tea Party, I feel compelled to say something about the satirical comments posted by Mark Williams of the Tea Party Express. They are not only tasteless, they are racist. Since the Tea Party is not a clearly definable organization, their "expulsion" of Williams may be hard to enforce but should be applauded. That satire could not have come at a worse time. Some of Williams' other recent comments have done harm to the Tea Party movement; thus, in my humble opinion, it is right to cast this guy off.

And it goes on and on and where it stops nobody knows...
This entire administration is racist as far as I'm concerned... Most of them want somekind of revenge for the past slavery of their ancestors and Obama is right up there with them...
I still think Obama is leading us into a civil war or some kind of uprising as soon as the rest of America wakes up...

Storm'n, your conspiracy theory doesn't go far enough. Barack Obama is secretly an alien, and he's setting this country up to become so dependent on the government that when our evil alien overlords finally come to seize control, we won't be able to put up any kind of a fight.

Lance,

Except for the alien part, you got it right for a change.

I think Storm'n Norm'n suffers from paranoia and after the newest revelation of the case he should be forced to eat crow. Talking of being racist.
Obama can't even relate to slavery, since no one in "his" family ever was one. It is not Obama who will be leading us into civil war but the stupid Americans who buy into this crap, led by "Mama Bear".

I really don't need to critique what Gary offers here, because he has had the integrity to do so himself. (See his later post). This was jumping the gun in voluntary ignorance on everyone's part: Gary (here), Breitbart, the White House, the NAACP, everyone.

It appears, not yet having watching the entire 43 minute video, that Sherrod was giving a heartfelt and timely explanation, twenty five years later, of how her own racism influenced the way she did her job, and how she learned to overcome it. It might be worth playing the entire 43 minutes in every inner-city school classroom, especially the ones plagued by the "acting white" syndrome.
