Alison Weir Speaks At UC-Irvine

This afternoon, Alison Weir, the producer of the documentary, "If Americans only knew", spoke at Israel Apartheid Wekk at UC-Irvine.

Weir is a journalist who gave up a job in California years ago to travel to the Middle East to explore the Israel/Palestinian advocate. She has become an advocate for the Palestians. In her presentaion, she spoke of the suffering of the Palestinians, which she had witnessed. She is a critic of Israeli policies.

During her talk, she was often disrupted by the same out of control woman I previously referred to. This woman has come to each afternoon event and acted like an out of control idiot.

When the Q&A came, I stepped up to the microphone and apologized to Ms Weir for the disruptive behavior of the woman. I pointed out that this woman was alone and not connected to any of the several pro-Israel people present.

In my question, I asked if Ms Weir was involved in any other human rights issues such as Sudan and Darfur, the hanging of gays in Iran, the stoning of women in Iran, the persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt or the resurgence of anti-Semitism world-wide as a result of the (Middle East) conflict.

In her answer, Weir pointed out that she is focused on this one issue for a variety of reasons including the fact that our country gives aid to Israel.

Any discussion why she doesn't discuss aid to Pakistan and their treatment of Hindus?

How about US aid to Egypt that as far as I know still continues to move to real democratic reform?
