The below New York Times article, which appeared today, tells us that under the new administration, the US Middle East policy has shifted decisively away from Israel.

President Obama is just the latest US president attempting to achieve that Holy Grail of a Middle East peace agreement, which will enshrine him in history. It is a false peace, however. It is the peace of Munich in 1938. For just as Hitler always intended to take all of Czechoslovakia, the Palestinian side ultimately wants it all.
From the river to the sea.
You see, it is not really about land and territory. It is about religion and ideology. It is about the refusal of the Arab states to allow a Jewish state in their midst. Obama cannot be so blind that he doesn't understand this. I don't think he cares.
