Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean and Michelle Bachmann -All in MSNBC Crosshairs

MSNBC is on the air

Have you noticed how the mad-hatters at MSNBC are going after three prominent conservative women-Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean? I mean night after night after night. First it's MSNBC's butter and egg man, Ed Schultz, followed by Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. It is nothing less than an obsession.

Tonight, Matthews led off with Palin and reactions (negative) to her book. Olbermann brought in his goofball friend Michael Musto from the Village Voice as they flashed racy images of Carrie Prejean and implied that she was really older than 17 when she made a tape for her boyfriend. Olbermann and Musto acted like frat boys tonight on Countdown. This is National Enquirer stuff, folks. It is ugly.

But the question begs-why?

Here is why. First, all three women all prominent, successful and yes, attractive conservative women who put the lie to the shrill cries from the left that women should be liberal feminists. That's why they are dangerous. It is the same reaction as what we have seen toward a conservative black man like Clarence Thomas. They must be destroyed.

Of course, they know of Palin's popularity among conservatives and that she well may be a candidate for president in 2012. She also represents a woman who chose to have a baby with Down Syndrome rather than have an abortion. They also know that Bachman is articulate, smart and a rising star in the Republican Party. Prejean has come out against gay marriage and has declared herself a conservative. Many people are listening to her.

One might expect feminists-like Maddow- to recoil at the sight of male commentators treating women in such a manner. Maddow, however, just joins right in. It's not about gender. It's about ideology. So when a young 22-year-old woman honestly answers a question from an obnoxious freak (Perez Hilton)about gay marriage and reveals herself to be conservative and God-fearing, she must be destroyed-even to the point of disseminating and hounding on any sexual indiscretions she may have made. As I write this, I am watching a liberal professor (Caroline Heldman) from Occidental College trying to argue on Sean Hannity's show that Prejean is a bigot for being opposed to gay marriage. She began the exchange by saying that Prejean has made bigoted statements. When pressed on which statements, she could only answer that she (Prejean) has spoken out against gay marriage. So according to this learned professor, if you are against gay marriage, you are a bigot.

That's the left.

This is not to say that any of the above women are above criticism especially as they attempt to elevate their careers in public life. As they say, it goes with the territory. I still have not decided my overall view of any of the three.

But you say, "wait a minute, Fouse. What about what you write about Hillary and Pelosi?" Fair question. I could answer that Hillary has a questionable past in connection with Whitewater, The White House Travel Office, and other scandals. I could argue that I consider her dishonest, corrupt, and ruthless. Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House and arguably the most powerful person in Congress. Her ideology is way too far to the left for my tastes. I will criticize what these two women have done and are doing all day long. I don't try to delve into their sex lives or their children, however.

What I see on MSNBC is not only unprofessional, it is disgusting.

I just watched the Hannity show with Caroline Heldman calling Carrie Prejean a bigot because she disagrees with gay marriage. I was so shocked to hear that word and when Hannity mentioned that Obama hasn't supported gay marriage she still didn't withdraw her comment. I can't believe our society has become so relativistic that no one is allowed to have any moral judgements without being called a bigot. I thought Carrie addressed the gay marriage question in a very open and kind way and yet she is villified.
