Those Axelrod E-Mails (Cont.)

While I was putting up a post on that e-mail I received from David Axelrod, Fox News' Major Garrett was asking White House comedian (and part-time press spokesman), Robert Gibbs about those very e-mails that Axelrod is sending out.

What Garrett wants to know is whether e-mails are being sent to people who never signed up for or solicitated e-mails from the White House. Gibbs, in typical fashion, dances all around the question in a belabored manner to say he doesn't know. (He never knows.)

So, since I have received several e-mails from Axelrod (or his office)recently, the question begs; have I signed up for e-mails from the White House? I want to answer that question carefully because the honest answer is to the best of my recollection, I don't think so. It is possible that in responding to a previous e-mail, I may have clicked a link to receive e-mails, but I don't believe that is the case.

The latest Axelrod e-mail came from;info@messages.whitehouse.gov>. At the bottom of the page, there is a notice not to reply to the e-mail itself (though you can), rather there is a link to The White House. On a couple of previous occasions, I sent a short, sarcastic reply both to the White House link and on this occasion to the e-mail address from which I received Axelrod's "chain e-mail". I have gone back and checked these links to see if there is a click where I can recall requesting updates. I don't see anything that I may have checked.

All of which is a torturous way of saying that I don't think I have requested any e-mail updates from the White House.

I'm almost 100% certain that you could easily unsubscribe from the emails. But then, what would you have to complain about, right?

I think that I told them you were fishy. I can't remember.

TexasFred never signed up for these emails and he can't get off the list getting them either. All he did was snitch on himself.

Bryan,

You are probably correct, but why should I? I'm having too much fun watching these guys shoot themselves in the foot.
