Carol Shea-Porter Has Man Arrested at Town Hall Meeting

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), who, prior to getting elected herself, made a practice of disrupting political events in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has a very short fuse when she is on the receiving end of... disrespect, shall we say. Watch what happened at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire on August 29, when she had a man arrested for speaking out of turn. The issue the man was asking about? The presence of SEIU goons in the audience.

So is this the new Democratic tactic to deal with town hall protesters- to have them arrested? Do you think what that man did or said merited an arrest? I don't.

Here's a clip of another event same date (Hat tip to Granitegrok.com):

This lady isn't too impressive, wouldn't you say?

Considering that she has people yelling at her while she's trying to talk, I think that she did rather well.

And I don't know how you can say that she has a "short fuse". That cop in the first video came up to the guy and said to him that he had been warned. How many times? I don't know, but it seemed to me that it was the cop's call to make on that one.

As for the video that claimed that the woman didn't get her question answered, I suppose that's true. But you can't win with these "When did you stop beating your wife?" types of questions, can you? Then again, I suppose that's the point.

Lance,

Maybe she did well (in your view) because she has her own experience raising hell at other people's town hall meetings.

I saw a guy being arrested for doing what people do at town hall meetings. You saw what you wanted to see.

Was I wrong about the cop telling him that he had been warned? Did I miss something, and it's her who's instructing the cop to arrest him? I can't view it right now to check, but I'll admit it if I'm wrong about that.

Who's really seeing what they want to see here?

And where was your outrage during Bush's town hall meetings, where everybody was pre-screened and all he got were a bunch of Bush worshippers? You never saw that at his meetings because the people couldn't even get in the door.

Lance,

Your ears must be better than mine (which aren't good). I can't make out what the cop said until he said, "put your hands up". I'll take your word for it though. Interesting how liberals all said that officer Crowley acted too fast with that Professor Gates, but this was reasonable? (I know you did not comment on Gates on this blog).

Was the man arrested or just escorted out? An arrest is probably a bit extreme - but again, I don't know the entire context. If he was escorted out, then it's appropriate, as he was just there to be disruptive.

We don't know, do we, but when the cops tell you to put your hands up and take your arms like that, it looks like an arrest to me.

Just watched it again. The cop says "You were warned" twice at the 1:31 mark.

I'll defer to you on that one. Seems to me that they're just leading him out. An arrest usually involves handcuffs and/or having his rights read to him, right? Of course, it could have happened right afterward.

Look, I'm not saying you're wrong - I'm just saying that there's not enough here to make any kind of decent judgment.

Lance,

Here's your decent judgement. Shea-Porter, before being a congresswoman, used to go to town hall meetings and a George Bush event and disrupt them to the point of getting thrown out. Now she has the cops take this guy out for that? She is a piece of work.

Can you say hypocrite?
