Remember the Name Giannoulias

It is being widely reported that Tony Rezko is cooperating with federal authorities in hopes of receiving a lesser sentence (which has been postponed). The person who must be sweating the most is Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, who was up to his neck with Rezko.

The next person who is sweating is none other than Barack Obama, who we already know was up to his neck with Rezko. Of course the wheels of justice will probably not turn fast enough to destroy Obama's campaign before the election.

So, with a big tip of the hat to my friends and colleagues Norm Hooben (Stormin' Norm'n), Roger Gardner (Radarsite), and Liberty Republican, remember this name-Giannoulias. It was the Giannoulias-owned Broadway Bank in Chicago that financed the questionable Obama purchase of his Chicago home that involved Rezko's purchase of the next door house and sale of a part of that property to Obama. It has been reported that Rezko is talking to the feds about the Giannoulias family.

Check out the story on Radarsite:

In 2006, Alexi Giannoulias, the 29-year-old son of the banker Alexis Giannoulias, with no political experience, ran for Illinois State Treasurer-and won-with Obama's endorsement. Guess who was present on December 4, 2005 when young Alexi announced his candidacy. Barack Obama.

It seems that the elder Giannoulias also has connections with other top dogs in Illinois; he is linked to the Friends of Blagojevich organization and Citizens for George Ryan (former Governor George Ryan-convicted of corruption).

Coincidences? I don't think so.

You may not hear the name Giannoulias again before the election (at least not from the mainstream media), but you will hear it again.
