The Real Moderate Muslims Come to Capitol Hill

Steve Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism has highlighted a visit to Capitol Hill on September 24 by five truly moderate Muslims. I am cross-posting their article here because it is crucial to identify and support the real moderate Muslims. The appearance and testimony was sponsored by Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC), who is very active in standing up to the radical Islamist agenda in the US.

I have previously written about Zuhdi Jasser, who was one of the persons testifying. Jasser represents the Muslims who our government should be listening to. The important point here is that one of the five, Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, accused groups like CAIR, the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Islamic Society of North America as representing a fifth column in America. They also pointed out the error of  our government in trying to work with these so-called "moderate" groups.

Siarlys,

Identifying true moderates today is an important issue. I compare those people to these false moderates that our govt is giving misdirected trust to.

Who are you to "identify" anyone? By their fruits we shall know them. You and I disagree on some of the fruits. But neither of us is in a position to certify who are the "good Muslims."

Siarlys,

In the interest of self defense, I am making it my right to identify who I consider the real moderate Muslims.

In the interest of self defense, you should start with the principle that each INDIVIDUAL is innocent until proven guilty. Those INDIVIDUALS who are promoting terrorism make it pretty obvious. Going to the other end, and choosing which Muslims to give a pat on the head and tell them they are certified moderate is likely to drive people the other way. It is a foolish approach.

Siarlys,

I respect your point, and I know it sounds arrogant of me, yet, given the world situation, it is of vital importance that we know exactly who our friends are and who our enemies are. A case in point is Rauf. I don't accept this guy as a moderate and there are thousands out there like him telling us that they are moderate. Yet, they (like Rauf) won't condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Sorry, when it comes to Islamic radicalism, terrorism, supremacy and shariah law for the west, I am going to be very wary of wolves in sheeps' clothing.
