The Murder of Catholic Priest Don Roberto Malgesini in Italy

 Yesterday, we reported on the stabbing murder of a well-known Catholic priest in Como, Italy. A Tunisian migrant has been charged with the crime after turning himself into the local Carabinieri and confessing to the murder while showing no remorse.  The suspect, Ridha Mahmoudi, 53, is an illegal immigrant in Italy with a history of petty crimes and was under an order of deportation.

Malgesini was well-known in Italy as an advocate for the poor, the homeless, and illegal migrants. An obviously well-intentioned man, his daily routine consisted of feeding the homeless and taking them to the hospital when needed. He had actually been fined by the city for violating regulations regarding people in the country illegally. Nevertheless, he was allegedly murdered by one of those he was trying to help.

Today, it is reported that Mahmoudi has retracted his confession. He originally reportedly told police that Malgesini "died like a dog". (His throat was reportedly slashed, and he was stabbed multiple times.)

I have to take issue with the position of the Catholic Church on this incident. Of course, they are in grief, but there is just a bit too much Christian charity being extended to the accused killer in this case. Here is what the head of the Christian charity, Caritas, is quoted as saying.

"Roberto Bernasconi, president of the Como section of pro-migrant Catholic charity Caritas, blamed the “tragedy” on the anti-migrant “climate of hatred and intolerance that is fomented in the city.”

Today, the police are refuting the statements of local Catholic officials in Como that the suspect was mentally ill, which is the default position on these kinds of murders committed by Muslim migrants all over Western Europe.

Mentally ill or not, the Catholic Church under Pope Francis is missing a critical point. While they may seek to forgive this particular murderer, Francis' public position on welcoming migrants is causing the deaths of many Europeans at the hands of these migrants. How many murders, robberies, rapes, riots and terrorist acts have been attributed to these mostly young males from the Middle East, North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, Afghanistan, Somalia and other places? Are they to be forgiven too, written off as mentally-ill unfortunates who need our help? Pope Francis, of course, doesn't make policy. That is the failure of those who do, the Italian government, the EU, and other Western European governments. But as a moral leader, Francis carries much weight in his position as Pontiff. His own statement on the death of Malgesini went right back to referring to "the poorest". Has he forgotten that even the poorest do not normally commit murder?

This is just one more case of a victim being sacrificed on the altar of a misguided immigration policy, one that is being pushed by Pope Francis and implemented by the politicians in Europe. At the risk of sounding like I am criticizing Malgesini, clearly a decent and compassionate  man, it must be said that if the Catholic Church wants to put its own priests at risk over this migrant issue, that is one thing. However, the Church has no right to put the rest of the population at risk in the process.

All of Italy is in shock after Tuesday's stabbing murder of Don Roberto Malgesini (pictured above) , a well-known priest in Como, who was an activist in helping to feed the homeless. His attacker is identified as Ridha Mahmoudi, a 53-year-old Tunisian, who was in the country illegally, had been arrested previously for petty crimes, and was under an expulsion order. Mahmoudi was reportedly one of the many homeless that Malgesini assisted.

The Compton Shooting: Witnesses Cheer Rather Than Assist

The actor James Woods has re-posted a tweet made by an eyewitness to the shooting of two LA Sheriff's deputies Saturday in Compton, California. In this, a man can be seen and heard celebrating having seen the shooting. Rather than call 9-11 or render assistance to the fallen deputies, this clown turns it into a selfie opportunity. A couple of the other people on the scene can be heard celebrating, and yelling, "No justice, no peace".

This, of course, is sick behavior. Unlike one of the reader comments, I don't believe for a minute that this is representative of all black Americans. I will say this, however. If black leaders really want to have a serious discussion on race, as they say they do, then they must be prepared to discuss incidents like this. They also need to confront it within the African-American community. My purpose in re-posting this-as well as the scene outside the hospital Saturday night- is not to stir anger and backlash among whites. But if you reverse the conditions, and it was white citizens cheering the gunning down of two innocent blacks, you would never see the end of this on the news. As it is, I seriously doubt the media will report this aspect of the story. They should because it is an issue that must be addressed.

Switzerland: Terrorist Motive Suspected in Stabbing Death

A Portuguese man was stabbed to death in the town of Morges located in the French-speaking canton of Vaud Saturday night. A suspect who is not further identified is in custody. According to the below report by the French language news outlet, Le Matin, the suspect is known to intelligence services and they are not ruling out a terrorist motive.

Man stabbed in Morges

Possible terrorist motive cannot be excluded

A homicide occurred Saturday in Morges suspected to have connections to terrorism. The Public Ministry of the Confederation has taken over the case.

The events took place in the commercial  central sector Pont-Nuef in Morges.

The Public Ministry of the Confederation (MPC) has taken over  the case of homicide Saturday in Morges, where a man was stabbed in the city center. The MPC justifies this measure because, "a possible terrorist motive cannot be excluded at the moment."

The suspect, who  was arrested Sunday in Renes (VD) by Vaud (cantonal) police after a night on the run, had already been in the sights of the MPC. "He is already implicated in a criminal procedure led by the MPC," states the latter in a statement. The federal prosecution adds that the person has also been known to the intelligence service of the Confederation (SRC) since 2017.

The attack took place Saturday evening around 21:20  at a kabob restaurant located near the Morges train station. The victim, who died at the scene, is a Portuguese national, aged 29. According to several witnesses, the victim was with his companion when the assailant stabbed them with a knife.

"The context of this homicide is in the process of being clarified," continues the MPC in its statement without giving further details. 

The LA Shooting and More Outrageous Reaction

As if the sight of demonstrators showing a group of dopes celebrating outside an LA hospital where two Sheriff's deputies were fighting for their lives after being shot in the head by an unidentified gunman wasn't enough outrage, we also have tweets from an NAACP chapter leader insulting those who were hoping and praying for the deputies' recovery.

On Sunday, Talbert Swan, who is also a church bishop, tweeted this:

I don't think the first tweet even deserves a response. It is simply too ignorant for words. On the other hand, I feel compelled to say something about the second. Up to this point, I have said nothing about the referenced case in which a young man (Kyle Rittenhouse-17) shot two people to death in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 25 during the violence that was occurring during the Jacob Blake protests. This is a pretty comprehensive video of the incident.

Whatever you think of the video, I think there is a pretty clear distinction between the event in Los Angeles and the Kenosha shooting (and the police shooting of Jacob Blake for that matter). I think Mr Rittenhouse-especially at his age- made a very poor choice of going to Kenosha, Wisconsin from his Illinois home armed with a rifle. Whether he thought he was defending something or he intended to shoot people, I don't know. He should not have been there in the first place, and he should not have taken the rifle. It's not like his own home was being attacked.

That being said, the video shows he was being chased and attacked when he fell to the ground. There was clearly an element of self defense at the moment. It also appears to me that as he was walking away after having shot a couple of people, that the additional shots heard appear (at least to me) as having come from someone else. I think the video shows that someone else was also firing shots somewhere nearby. At any rate, the video will be critical to his defense in court. Whether that will get him off on all possible charges is another matter. 

 The point I am trying to make here is that Mr Swan made a poor choice of analogies.

The NAACP should be embarrassed at the first tweet issued above by Mr Swan. This is an organization that had a great history before and during the Civil Rights movement. Now it is just a bunch of partisan ideologues in my view. In that regard, Swan's comments are not so surprising. That he is a bishop and would make that comment about Black Lives Matters is very shocking. If he wants to make public statements showing his ignorance is one thing, but he is representing the NAACP, and he is representing his church. (His name on the tweets says he is a bishop.) I will excuse Mr Swan for the Kenosha analogy, but his comment on the LA Sheriff's deputies is shameful.

LA Sheriff's Deputies Expected to Survive

As previously reported, on Saturday evening, two Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies were ambushed  and shot in the head as they sat in their patrol car at a Metro station in Compton. It is an attack that has shocked the nation. Also shocking was the action of a group of ignorant dopes who celebrated outside the hospital where the deputies were being treated.

It appears now that both victims are going to recover after they were both operated on Saturday night. The hunt for the man who did the shooting is on-going, and a reward of $100,000 has been offered for information leading to the man's arrest.

Two Cops Shot in LA- Demonstrators Cheer at Hospital

 On Saturday night, an unidentified shooter walked up to a Los Angeles Sheriff's patrol car and fired into the vehicle  hitting two deputies in the head. As I write this, they are both fighting for their lives in a local hospital.

That would be bad enough, but the story took another ugly turn when Black Lives Matters protesters showed up at the hospital, blocked entries, tried to force their way in, and yelled slogans like, "Hope they die!"  I am posting a video made by one of these jerks. It may be taken down soon (warning: language).



That is beyond disgusting.

One hardly knows what to say even after the summer of outrages we have seen across the country in places like Portland, Seattle and so many other places.

As I write this, the NFL season is opening today (It actually began Thursday night in Kansas City), and we are being treated to all the kneeling scenes and insults against our National Anthem in the name of social justice. Will anybody kneel for those two LASO deputies today? I doubt it. Instead, the NFL, the networks, and the game broadcasters at CBS and Fox are fully supporting the BLM theme and the denigration of the Anthem. I hope the NFL loses their collective shirts this season

But that is minor compared to last night's outrage in Los Angeles. It is clear that the violence has gone on far too long. This has nothing to do with social justice, nothing to do with the laudable idea that black lives matter (no caps), and nothing to do with George Floyd's death. It is about anarchy, insurrection and racial hate. It is not enough that the shooter be brought to justice. Those who showed up at the hospital to celebrate the shooting need to look themselves in the mirror. They are despicable.

This kind of behavior does not represent the feelings of most black Americans. At the same time, too many people of all races are buying into this false narrative that police are targeting black men on the streets, looking to arrest them, harm them or kill them. Anarchistic groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter are exploiting this to bring havoc and racial division to the country.

I thought we had reached a new low with the events in Seattle and Portland, but this outrage in LA ranks right up there with them.

 This week, asylum-seekers and migrants set fire to their reception camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, completely burning it down. In response, the EU is arranging for member nations to take in "their fair share". The Netherlands has announced it is taking in 100 of them. That doesn't sit well with Geert Wilders, who says that it is just rewarding criminal behavior and sending a message to migrants in other camps in southern Europe. Just burn the place down and you'll get a free ticket to places like the Netherlands. He calls it, "unbelievable stupidity". This past week, we have been reporting on the scheduled speaking appearance (via Zoom) of Leila Khaled, a terrorist hijacker, at San Francisco State University.

Coincidentally, yesterday, we marked the anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Seeming to forget the topic of airplane hijackings, SFSU is determined to go ahead with this event organized by their notorious-yes notorious- professor, Rabab Abdulhadi.

But aside from all the objections to this event, this one stands out, so I am cross-posting it from IsraellyCool.com.  It is a letter to SFSU President Lynn Mahoney from one Rodney Khazzam. Who is Rodney Khazzam? Fifty years ago, he was a boy sitting on an El Al flight from Amsterdam to New York that was hijacked by Khaled. Here is his letter to President Mahoney.

I know that Mahoney is receiving many letters this week on this subject, perhaps too many to read. I certainly hope she finds time to read this one.

9-11-Never Forget

Italy: Congolese Woman Attacks Matteo Salvini

 On Wednesday, Italian politician Matteo Salvini was making a public appearance in the Tuscan town of Pontassieve when he was accosted by a Congolese woman who ripped his shirt and tore two rosaries from his neck while screaming twice, "I curse you. I  curse you," in Italian. The woman was quickly pulled away and arrested.



Later, Salvini made a short video explaining the incident.
