Stanford Law

Stanford University
(Apologies to Moscow State University)

An incident occurred this week at the Stanford University School of Law, where US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Kyle Duncan was scheduled to speak. (He had been invited.by the Stanford Federalist Society,) Unfortunately, once again, a disgraceful incident occurred when he was heckled by Jacobin students who did not agree with some of his opinions on the bench. Standard fare on our university campuses these days. Fox News has a report today here.

Steinbach center, Duncan on right

Then things got worse when one of the "adults in the room" took to the podium to "correct" the situation. Instead, the law school's Dean of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Tirien Steinbach proceeded to lecture Judge Duncan on why his opinions were so hurtful and painful to the snowflakes in the audience. Curiously, she proceeded to insist that she and her university stood for free speech even as she questioned whether his appearance was worth it. Indeed, Steinbach carried on as if everybody in the room had come to hear her speak, not Judge Duncan. It was a classic demonstration of everything that is wrong on our campuses today. In the end, Steinbach invited the snowflakes to leave the room to show their disapproval of the invited speaker.

The video of Steinbach's soap-box words can be accessed here, courtesy of Fox News.

But there is good news. The Stanford Law School has sent a written apology to Duncan. It also acknowledged that certain members of their staff acted inappropriately.

That would be you, Dean Steinbach.

I have checked the current online issue of the Stanford Daily, and as yet, I see nothing about this article. I will continue to check.
