As everybody knows by now, there has been a shooting at a 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois, north of Chicago. Six people are reported dead and many more wounded. It appears that the shooter is a white male, 19-20 years old and who was firing a rifle from a rooftop. I am confident police will have the shooter in custody before long.
What is this world coming to?
If any of my readers are wondering why I am not covering this as extensively as yesterday's Copenhagen shooting (which I am guessing involves the same type of twisted shooter), it is because today's shooting is understandably all over the American media, and there is no need to come to this site to get the details. The Copenhagen shooting is not getting as much coverage in the US media, and we are able to provide translations for many events happening in Europe depending on the country and the language. (In the case of the Copenhagen shooting, we have translated articles from neighboring Sweden.)
And yes, if it concerns Islamic terrorism, that is one of the principal features of this blog. The Copenhagen shooting was not Islamic terrorism-related, while today's shooting is as yet unknown on that point. Either way, it all has to be condemned.
