I suppose I will be writing a much longer article on today's events in Washington later on when the dust settles. I still have some questions in my mind about what took place in the Capitol Building. Some are suggesting that some of the rioters may have been Antifa types in disguise. I have no idea.
In addition, I have not had a chance to listen to President Trump's full speech to the protesters before they marched to the Capitol. I have heard one segment, and I didn't like it. I would hope that most of those who came to Washington simply to protest peacefully did so and did not participate in the violence. There is no doubt, however, that many did, and those individuals should be ashamed.
One thing I want to say right now is that those who took part in the storming of the Capitol are to be condemned, and hopefully, every last one of them will be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This is the kind of conduct that we expect from Antifa, not true patriots. These scenes from the Capitol today are sickening, and every decent American should condemn them.
It is true that millions of Americans feel that the election was stolen, and they are angry about it. I am angry, and I want a full investigation-which probably will never happen now. It is true that the media is having a field day tonight. Where were they when Minneapolis, Seattle and Portland were burning? Where were Joe Biden's condemnations then?
But that is no excuse to riot and storm our Capitol. This has brought shame to our nation and will be a permanent stain on Donald Trump's legacy. This may even turn out to be the death knell of the Republican Party. That would be a true tragedy, not because I am a great admirer of the party, but our democracy will not survive a one-party system-not for one day.
One last thought: I know Vice President Pence is taking a lot of heat this week from some quarters and today as well. It is undeserved. He is conducting himself with honor and standing for the Constitution and the Republic.
What the Hell is happening to our great country?

What is happening?
Donald Trump.
He's to blame. Stop comparing him to Biden. Biden clearly condemned violence and rioting. Trump is actively encouraging this! He could end it all by conceding.
And stop it with this lie about there needing to be a "full investigation". It's been investigated. There's no proof of any fraud.
When you keep repeating this lie and refuse to condemn Trump, YOU are what's happening to this country.
Find your conscience, man.
Anonymous,
I suggest you go back and re-read what I wrote particularly my references to Trump. My conscience? Re-read the post. I merely pointed out-correctly-the hypocrisy of the media and the Dems when they have been silent for months over the rioting in other cities. As I said, that does not excuse what happened.
But you're wrong. They have not been silent.
These two things are not the same.
The terrorists who attacked our capitol were actively encouraged by Trump and his cronies. (And no, they were not Antifa - several of them have been identified as known Trumpers.) Prominent Dems are on record condemning any violence and destruction of property. But even if they didn't, the rioters weren't acting upon the instructions of any prominent Dems.
You can't even compare these things at the root level, as one side was protesting real injustice, the other side is protesting nonexistent fraud.
Can you really not see the difference here? Are you that lost?
So no, there is no hypocrisy. This is something that you're telling yourself so you can feel better about supporting a traitor to everything that's good about America and the Constitution.
There are lots of very real and important things that we can criticize about the Democrats. But right now the issue is Trump, and he needs to be actively condemned, and everyone who supported him needs to admit that they were wrong - or they're complicit.
I once had an argument with a guy who tried to tell me that the Allies were just as bad as the Nazis because of things like segregation, Japanese internment, unjustified executions of German soldiers (not SS), etc.
Yes, there are valid critiques of the Allies. They weren't perfect. They did a lot wrong.
But Hitler was the bigger problem.
Trump is the bigger problem. This is his idea of "Make America Great". It's what we've been trying to tell you about him since day one, but we've been accused of "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
Do the right thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to recall you wrote a post about how Trump wasn't your choice during the Republican primaries. You were seeing it then. You have it in you.
Where am I wrong in my post? I am not denying that (at least many, most or all) the attackers were Trump supporters. The woman who was killed was a Trump supporter. I think there is a possibility that some of the attackers were Antifa-types in disguise, but I am not stating that as a fact. As the rioters are identified and charged, we will learn.
As for Trump, I have said ever since 2016 that I consider him a jerk. I have supported his policies and I voted for him twice. You can say I was wrong, but consider the alternatives-Hillary Clinton and Joe BIden. And yes, I think there is a possibility-a possibility- that the election was stolen, but I concede that Biden will be pres. on Jan 20.
As for the Antifa-BLM rioters. When they rode through the Fairfax section of LA shouting "F---ing Jews", defacing synagogues and breaking Jewish shops, was that because of George Floyd? Were the nightly attacks in Portland because of some just cause that you referred to? You are making the same equivocations you accuse me of. Antifa has no cause. They are anarchists. Joe BIden said they were just "an idea". Where has been his condemnation of Antifa violence? When did Joe Biden or the media ever say anything as strong about Antifa and BLM that I said yesterday about the Capitol rioters?
Yes, I am ashamed of the so-called patriots and Trump supporters who attacked the Capitol. Yes, Trump's speech was inappropriate and given at the wrong place at the wrong time. He should not have encouraged them to march to the Capitol. My opinion of him has sunk to a new low, and I will be relieved when this turbulent presidency is over. But what is going to follow will not be pretty. Anything considered conservative now has a big target on its back once the new govt comes in. But that's another topic.
We all should condemn violence whether it be from Trump supporters, Antifa or BLM.I am trying to be consistent. Are you?
I looked up the "F---ing Jews" thing. They weren't even saying that. They said "Prosecute killer cops."
You need to get your head out of right-wing media because they're lying to you.
Here's a piece, written by Biden himself, where he states:
"Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not."
https://medium.com/@JoeBiden/we-are-a-nation-furious-at-injustice-9dcffd81978f
But again, even if you were right and Biden didn't condemn the violence, it's still not the same. Trump and his cronies were actively encouraging these people! Biden never gave marching orders to Antifa.
As for Antifa agitators in the Trump group, you do know that there are several instances of people who committed acts of violence during BLM protests who were proven to be right-wing agitators? The cop killer? He was part of the Boogaloo movement.
Maybe a handful of Antifa folks snuck in there, but until we get some evidence, this is just wishful conjecture on the part of right-wingers who are starting to feel some cognitive dissonance.
Look, I was never Clinton's biggest fan (nor am I Biden's) but do you really think that things would be this bad under them? If Clinton lost a second term to a Republican, do you think that we'd see some equivalent to this? (Even if there was, they'd be shot dead before they even stepped into the Capitol.) Do you think that the response to this pandemic would be the utter disaster that it is? Do you really think that?
And seriously, stop it with this "the election could have been stolen" nonsense. You're repeating a proven traitor's talking point.
One last thing, the problem with any kind of protest is that there isn't any control over who joins up. Some people just like to watch the world burn. I wouldn't be shocked if some people who had nothing better to do and just wanted to cause trouble joined up with those terrorists at the capitol. That's also what no doubt happens at BLM protests as well. You can't paint all of them with the same brush.
In this case though, the main group was acting upon Trump's very words. Even if some weren't true believers, this wouldn't have happened if not for Trump.
Anonymous,
If the Jerusalem Post is not an acceptable source for you, let me know. I'll will send you more. Maybe you should question the reliability of your sources regarding what occurred in LA.

We will see in the coming days who was involved in this riot. Thus far those who have been identified are Trump supporters or right-wing people like QAnon. I condemn them and want to see them prosecuted. If Antifa people are identified as having been involved I hope you will also. We should be condemning all rioting and violence no matter who it comes from.
