Wildlife and Racial Oppression

Hat tip Legal Insurrection

"We draw on existing research to link racist practices – including residential segregation – to the observed heterogeneous patterns of flora and fauna observed by urban ecologists. As a result, urban ecology and evolution researchers must consider how systems of racial oppression affect the environmental factors driving biological change in cities."

I would say, "You can't make this up, but somebody did. That would be a bunch of ecology professors writing in Science Magazine about the nexus between urban wildlife and racial oppression. Dr William Jacobson of the Cornell Law School has pointed this absurdity out in his blog, Legal Insurrection. Jacobson is already under fire for  his criticism of Black Lives Matter.

I am reminded of that anonymous reader who commented to me this week that I should sit back, relax, and let the academics work their magic. This truly is magic.
