Pitzer College Holds Anti-Israel, Anti-Capitalist Webinar

Hat tip Jewish News Service

On June 30, Pitzer College (that's in California for all you UC Santa Cruz History of Consciousness and Community Studies majors.) held a webinar featuring two radical California professors, Rabab Abdulhadi (San Francisco State) and Robin Kelley (UCLA). The topic was, naturally, Israel. Along the way, I guess our own country came in for its fair share of abuse as well as capitalism. What else is new?

Andrew Harrod (who is one of the good guys) has written a report on the festivities.

There is not much to add to Harrod's report, but I will note that I did once catch Kelley's act at UC Irvine in 2013. On that glorious evening he was sharing the stage with UCI's own comedian, Sohail Daulatzai, who is a professor of Film Studies, angry left-winger, and Israel-basher. I frankly don't recall much about Kelley except he kind of looks like Spike Lee, and he had recently taken a trip to Israel and was showing slides of all the squalor he encountered in Palestinian villages.

Robin Kelley "Palestinian-black solidarity"

I would have seen Abdulhadi at UCI too in 2015, except she apparently skipped out at the last minute when I showed up in the audience with my video camera. The podium was all set up on stage with chairs for her and GUPS students, but they never materialized after the university refused to enforce the Muslim Student Union's demand that no filming take place-an illegal demand.

Ahoy! There she is!

Kudos to Harrod for undergoing the Chinese water torture of a webinar featuring those clowns. It has really gotten old.
