In Gothenburg, there is an Islamic school that has been practicing gender segregation for the past 22 years. It should be noted that in Sweden, unlike the US, religious schools are not considered private schools as in the US. They are still subject to Swedish regulations and gender segregation is not permitted in Sweden, at least since rules were passed in 2019. Yet, the Romosse School continues to practice gender segregation in the classrooms.
Swedish Public Television (SVT) West has conducted an investigation, and this month posted the below two videos. They have tried unsuccessfully to interview school administrators.
The first video shows an interview of school inspection official, Frida Eek. Note the evasive answers she gives.
The second interview is with two politicians who are dissatisfied with the lack of action taken by the inspectors.
