Gavin Newsome's Cruel Treatment of Victims' Families

For some time now, California, firmly under Democrat control, has been plagued by lousy governors. From Grey Davis to Arnold Schwarzenegger (a Republican)  to Jerry Brown to the current governor, Gavin Newsome, we have been led by a succession of sleazeballs.

Newsome will probably outdo all of them. This month, he announced a moratorium on California's death penalty. To make things worse, he preceded that by inviting about half a dozen murder victims' family members to Sacramento ostensibly to discuss victims' rights issues. That was when he stunned his guests by announcing that he was calling a moratorium on executions.

One of those present was Marc Klaas, whose 12-year-old daughter Polly, was raped and murdered back in 1993 by Richard Allen Davis, who is currently on death row. Klaas has given a videotaped statement on this outrage which is being disseminated by the California Republican party. What Newsome did was an outrage, not just by halting executions, but by cynically using the families of the victims as a prop for his announcement. Klaas was also interviewed by ABC.

The video of Klaas by the California Republican party can be accessed here.

To the rest of you who don't live in California, get ready. In 5 years, Newsome will be running for president.
