Hat tip The College Fix and Daily Californian
On Tuesday, a conservative activist for Turning Point USA was assaulted and punched by an unknown attacker at a table set up by the conservative group. The assault was captured in videotape.

According to the Daily Californian, the attacker has possibly been identified.
"Hayden Williams had been tabling for Turning Point USA on Tuesday with posters stating “Hate crime hoaxes hurt real victims” and “This is MAGA Country.” Williams told Sean Hannity that some students took offense to the signs, prompting the attack."

It sounds to me like anger over the assault claim by actor Jussie Smollett, which now appears to be a hoax, may have played a role. If that is the case, it is something else for Mr Smollett and others who might engage in hoax hate-crime reporting to consider. Smollett's story had already started to unravel when the Berkeley incident occurred. On Wednesday, he was charged with filing a false report.

LOL. I heard the radio bit where Wayne was discussed this week. I won't try to defend the comments, but as was pointed out in the radio program, Wayne, who lived in Newposrt Beach, was born ca 1906 and was in his 60s when he made the comments in 1971. The Civil Rights era only began in the late 50s-60s. Today, those comments would draw a sharp rebuke, so I guess he would have kept it to himself. As one who flies in and out of the airport a lot, it would at least eliminate a lot of confusion when I tell the check-in counbter where I am going.
What other famnous resident of OC could we name the place after? How about Dennis Rodman?
