Alex Villanueva is the newly-elected LA County Sheriff. He was one of the several people who won elective office in California after the actual election day in November thanks to all those provisional and mail-in late ballots etc.
On Tuesday, Villanueva appeared before the LA County Board of Supervisors and announced that ICE will be physically removed from the LA County jails. What that means is that LA County is a "sanctuary county", which will not fully cooperate in turning over illegal alien criminals to ICE upon release from jail.
