FBI Helped Dutch Foil Terrorist Plot

Hat tip Ben

We've heard so much negative reporting on the FBI the last couple of years because of the corruption at the top levels involving the Clinton email whitewash and the weaponization of our intelligence services against President Trump. Meanwhile, the street agents do their job. Here we have a great example of international cooperation saving lives.

Back in July, we reported that the Dutch police in Rotterdam had arrested two Moroccans planning to carry out a terrorist attack. We now learn that the information came from the FBI. The below article was sent to me by a friend in the Netherlands. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Terror suspects also looked at Erasmus Bridge

ROTTERDAM - The two men who possibly wanted to commit a terrorist attack on a Rotterdam police station also made photos and videos of the Erasmus Bridge. One of the two suspects made a film from the bridge, the other sings songs on it and talks about martyrdom.

"These suspects planned to carry out an attack in the short term," said the public prosecutor on Wednesday during a non-substantive hearing in the extra-secure court in Rotterdam. "Only through rapid intervention by the police and the judiciary were they unable to implement these plans."

The suspects, Moroccan men aged 27 and 22, were not present in court. Their names are not yet known. The 27-year-old man is possibly named  Mouad M., the 22-year-old Ahmed B. or Salim A. At their arrest, they had told them they were from Libya and were underage. "They use many aliases," the officer said. Their lawyer denies that, however. "They are illiterate, they do not know how to spell their name."

Chat

The men were arrested last June in a house in Rotterdam South on suspicion of preparing terrorism and membership of a terrorist organization. They would have wanted to attack the security services in the Netherlands. One of the suspects sent a picture of the Veranda police station in Rotterdam-Zuid, which is close to the Kuip, in a chat via Facebook - which was intercepted by the American intelligence service FBI.
The chat also discussed in detail about (the purchase of) weapons, explosives and bomb belts. In any case, one of the suspects has also indicated several times that he intended to commit an attack. No weapons or explosives were found during their arrest.
The investigation is still in full swing, the officer informed. Both men are stuck in pre-trial detention and remain so for the time being, the court ruled. The case goes on November 27, it is again a non-substantive session.
