The below report by Gates of Vienna gives more information on the meeting this week between the Italian and German interior ministers than the actual German news report. Matteo Salvini has always recognized the threat caused by the migrant invasion of Europe. Seehofer is just coming around to that fact.

Seehofer has been at odds with Angela Merkel on this issue and until they reached a compromise agreement, Merkel's government was in danger of collapsing (which would be a good thing).
