Obama's Stab in Israel's Back
"I have your back"
It was bound to happen. As Barack Obama is walking out the door along with Secretary of State John Kerry and our ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, he stabs Israel, our only true ally in the Middle East, in the back. The US abstention in a UN resolution to condemn Israel for its settlements in Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem (disputed territories) contradicts decades of American policy to protect Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East from its enemies in the UN.
Keep in mind that the largest voting bloc in the UN is the 56-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The UN can always be relied upon to do its bidding along with all the other third world dictatorships that make up this outdated and harmful organization. For decades, The UN has passed innumerable resolutions against Israel while ignoring horrific human rights abuses in the rest of the Middle East and, indeed, the world.
In one month, Israel will once again have a strong ally in the US, but this action cannot be undone. It puts Israel in a weaker position internationally and sends a message to the Palestinians that they don't have to negotiate a final deal with Israel. This is not how allies treat each other. This is shameful.
Power, in her speech before the UN lied when she said that the abstention in no way diminishes American support for Israel. Of course it does. It confirms what we have known all along: Obama is on the side of the Palestinians and has a hostile attitude toward Israel. His words about having Israel's back have always rung hollow.
And as far as the UN is concerned, it is time for the free nations of the world to consider a UNEXIT.

Protect the integrity of Israel as a distinct nation, check.
Give Israel a blank check to violate well established international norms on permanent resettlement of civilians in militarily occupied territory... no way.
Lebensraum is lebensraum, whether your name is Shicklegruber or Netanyahu.
They are both thugs who talk out both sides of their mouths, mewling about how "we are under attack" while plotting new aggressive outrages.
It is true that legitimate territory of Israel IS being attacked... but it gets harder to make that point when Israel is doing the same.
