"Defender of liberty" award
CAIR is showing its true colors again. This time they are honoring two left-wing organizations, Jewish Voice for Peace, which is 100% for the destruction of Israel, and the far-left Center for Constitutional Rights.

In addition to JVP, the CCR also supports the Palestinian cause against Israel-even though CAIR's SoCal director, Hussam Ayloush once told an interviewer that CAIR doesn't get bogged down in Middle Eastern affairs or conflicts in the Middle East. So they honor an organization (JVP) whose sole purpose is supporting the Palestinian cause against Israel.
I have become quite familiar with JVP over the years. They are anarchistic in nature, preferring to disrupt speaking events, such as Benjamin Netanyahu's appearance in New Orleans a few years ago. They are always quick to defend other groups that disrupt pro-Israel events, such as the Israeli Ambassador to the US, Michael Oren's speech at UC Irvine in 2010 and last May's disruption of a film presentation by UCI's Students Supporting Israel, the latter (disruption) of which JVP participated in.
When three JVP leaders came to speak at UCI in 2011, they actually maintained that students who supported Israel should not be able to feel comfortable on campus. They termed pro-Israel speech as "useless discourse".
