Should French authorities be able to ban the Islamic full head to toe bathing suit on French beaches and pools? That is what former French president Nicolas Sarkozy discussed recently. The interview is in French with sub-titles. He says, "Yes".
While US law would swiftly stop the burkini ban, we are talking about French law. ( I believe the French courts just this week stopped the ban.) At any rate, Sarkozy argues that French Muslim women should enjoy the right, if they wish, to dress like other French woman on the beach.

What Sarkozy is really saying is, if a woman wants to cover herself while swimming, the law should require her to bare almost all.
