John Koskinen-The Concealer

An angry federal judge has threatened contempt citations to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen over the agency's failure to  provide weekly email records relating to Lois Lerner and the agency's attempt to harass conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.

God, is there really hope that justice might be achieved against this corrupt administration?

Your question assumes facts not in evidence.

Siarlys,

I have been writing about the facts of this administration since they came into office.

The organization, "Judicial Watch" has gained access to many of the IRS emails through many FOIA lawsuits, which implicate Louis Lerner and shows that higher ups in the IRS had targeted conservative groups. The IRS also, gained access to the conservative groups donors and conducted audits on this folks. In addition, the IRS delayed confirmation of conservative groups requests for non-profit status, for up to two years. Liberal groups got confirmation within a few months. The IRS commissioner had lied about not knowing about the Lerner emails and stated that all the Lerner emails were destroyed, which was a lie, as the backup server has produced the emails from Lerner.
Thus, the Judge has little patients for pompous ass who runs the IRS.

No Gary, what you've been writing has not been the facts, only your personal fantasies about what a cherry-picked selection of facts might imply.

Gary Fouse said...

If this is all about fantasies, why did Lois Lerner refuse to testify before Congress and take the 5th?

Wow Siarlys,

Now you sound like Barack Obama, as he stated that there is not a smidgin of scandal with the IRS. Of course, a Federal judge is not going for this subterfuge, as he demanded the release of the Lerner emails ASAP, to Congress. I do not think this is "cherry picking".
In my previous comment, with facts, apparently was not read by you. These are the facts and you should read the comment.

@ Siarlys,

Here are some more facts that you may have missed. Hope that this is helpful with your "fact check".

Facts? Squid, really, did you expect to get away with that? You offered a rather shady url linking to a shadowy advocacy group. Its like referring me to https://debr.nuc.es/1PP2015 for "the truth about those nasty cameramen trying to take down Planned Parenthood." Or, like referring me to an insider Republican private web page for "the truth about Sherrod Brown."

I think Lois Lerner is an idiot, because she did more or less the right thing without having a clear rationale for why she was doing it, and got scared (unnecessarily) when she started taking flak. She should have forthrightly said that she was doing her job, and doing it well, and there is nothing to be ashamed of or worried about. Liberals are afraid of their own shadow.

Most of those Tea Party groups are NOT entitled to a tax exemption for their donors, because they darn well ARE engaged in political advocacy, quite as much as the DNC and the RNC. They were a big batch of very new organization popping up on the political landscape all at once, and deserved close scrutiny. Now if you want to talk about why Lois Lerner is to dense to say that forthrightly, that's a discussion worth having.

As for paper work piling up, that's a function of congress inadequately funding the IRS. Not enough staff to do its job. Penny pinching has consequences.

(Note: I favor abolishing tax exempt status, period, then nobody will have to debate who should get one, and the IRS will be out of the business of vetting who is worthy of one.)
