Speech by Heinrich August Winkler
This week, the German Bundestag, like other European nations, marked the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe (May 8, 1945). Due to Germany's war guilt, the Holocaust and all the other crimes committed under Adolf Hitler's regime, the German ceremonies are especially noteworthy.
I listened to the below speech by German historian Heinrich August Winkler. I thought it was an excellent speech in talking about Germany's unique responsibility. Of course, it is in German, and this has no sub-titles, but if you know German, this is worth listening to.
