I would be the last one to defend Robert Menendez, the senator from New Jersey, whom I have long suspected to be corrupt. If that is the case, I welcome the indictment.
It must be asked, however, whether this indictment was politically driven. Remember that Menendez, a Democrat, had recently broken ranks with the Obama administration over the Iran nuke deal and the shameful treatment Obama has given to Israel. It is true that the investigation pre-dated Menendez's public criticism of the negotiations, but pending indictments can be quashed, as we have seen in the past.
The question I ask is whether this indictment would have been brought had Menendez been on board with Obama's negotiations with Iran and his treatment of Israel.

FRom the Department od "Justice for Us" Eric Holder is merely following Obama's dictate to: "Punish the enemy". So, Menendez is now the enemy because he is more concerned for the welfare of America.

Funny how Menendez (who I also always figured was corrupt) got charged, but both Holder and Lerner skated. Doesn't seem right somehow.
