Project Veritas has now released video of their operatives hitting several California university campuses with a petition in support of financial aid to the Islamic State (ISIS), which they got several people including professors to sign. This follows previous videos taken at Cornell and Barry Universities. The latest California group includes UC Irvine, where I teach part-time. (No, I was not involved and didn't know about it until I read about it in the Orange County Register this morning.)
Due to California state laws, pending legal advice, I am holding off on cross-posting the PV video in California, which is appearing on their web site. In the meantime, below is an op-ed by Joseph Perkins in today's OC Register, which reports the story.

Well, as they used to say at a campus I was once familiar with, if you drop a piece of paper on the ground, by the time it lands it will have ten signatures on it.
These are college people, students and staff. Are they not smart enough to know what they are signing? Even if the language used is not explicit, these people are supposed to be aware of what the hell is going on in the world-no?
