"Male Privilege" (St Louis University)

Hat tip College Insurrection

“What it means to be an ally is … you aren’t an ally of anything, of anybody, unless you participate in the disruption of the power structures that affect the other person,” said panelist Jonathan Smith, professor of African-American studies at Saint Louis University"

Is there something in the water of the Mississippi River that passes by St Louis these days? It seems every day something's going wrong there. On March 31, St Louis University was the site of a panel that discussed "male privilege".

This is part and parcel of what I think is now an organized drive in academia to further divide Americans into victims and oppressors (something new, right?) If you can't actually show discrimination and racism, "privilege" is the new buzz word. We have "white privilege". "male privilege", "hetero privilege", and "Christian privilege" (Don't tell that to Christians in Islamic countries.) All this is being expounded by professors employed in various gender studies, gay studies, and ethnic studies departments.

Professors like Jonathan Smith.
