In response to the invitation for ex-professor Steven Salaita to speak at the University of Washington, the below letter was written by UW student Jaime Schwartz. I am cross-posting it from The Mike Report, a Seattle-based blog.

Salaita's comments are disgusting. While I wouldn't necessarily support him being fired froma university position for expressing his opinions, I support the University of Illinois in deciding during the hiring process that this was a person they did not want on their faculty.
