As best as I can determine, a total of five (5) State Dept. reports, to actually include four (4) while Clinton/Kerry were Secretary of State, found that the Keystone pipeline would create jobs, add billions of dollars to the economy, and have no significant effect on the generation of greenhouse gases and thereby no effect on climate change/global warming.
In addition, many say that it would help keep the price of oil/gasoline down. It probably would if we can keep from being dumb enough not to ensure that we got something out of the deal.
Except for pure partisan politics/pandering, to the detriment of the U.S. and its citizens, I have no other idea why Obama Himself would veto legislation relative to this project.
Yeah elwood, but a bunch of good ol' boy farmers and ranchers in the middle of Red State Nebraska are certain that the pipeline will pollute their water supply, destroy their livelihoods, and really don't want it crossing their property.
