Hat tip Campus Reform
The new buzzword on college campuses these days is, "white privilege". What that really means is that if you can no longer complain about white racism and discrimination, you can talk about white privilege, whatever that means. (I'm still looking for mine.) Here is the latest example from the University of San Francisco.

It's bad enough that students would be leading the charge on this. Here you have professors leading the charge with this nonsense. Worse yet, they are trying to sell this mantra to young and impressionable students.
Maybe they should wake up and smell the coffee. We have a black president and a black attorney general. (I just wish they were not this particular black president and this particular attorney general.)
In addition, since this kind of discourse is never far from mentioning the word Republican, maybe these whiners should take a look at this week's election where those nasty crackers in South Carolina elected Tim Scott by a wide margin to continue as US senator, and those racist Mormons in Utah elected Mia Love to the House of Representatives. True, it's just two figures, but it's a sign that black conservatism just might be making inroads-as it should.
This continuing emphasis on victimization on college campuses is counter productive. Better that the time in college be spent on getting an education and interacting freely and comfortably with fellow students of all ethnic backgrounds than trying to further divide people on the basis of race.

I tell you what. I'm sick to death of minorities trying to make present day white people feel guilty for things they had no part in.
A friend of mine who is white, lost his job and was homeless. He applied for Welfare and housing assistance and was denied because:
1. He had worked in the last year.
2. He was white.
Farfetched? Nope. The woman at the Welfare office told him that if he was black, he would have gotten all the help he needed, no questions asked.
Screw Diversity and Political Correctness and this "White Privlege" crap.
Anonymous,
While I sympathize with your point and your story, I would encourage you to support black conservatives. They reject this as well. It takes courage for them to swim against the tide.
I encourage you to learn who they are and support them.
I noticed that your girl Mia got elected this time. All to the good. As blacks become free to be conservative, traditional working class "white" voters will be freed to swing left more often. Let's mix it all up.
I definitely agree that the phrase "white privilege" is mostly me-too-ism, by people too young to experience real entrenched de jure racism, who want to have their fling. Its not unlike Christians claiming to martyred when some court decision doesn't go their way.
I've had the experience of trying to calm down a rowdy table in the library of a Boys and Girls Club by shouting "ain't no niggers in this club," and hearing one young lady break the ensuing silence by pointing at a young man no darker than herself to respond "Yes there is, him!"
There are still some significant racial discrepancies to work on, but they have multiple causes, and are not going to be solved by guilt trips.
