Chuck Hagel was by all accounts a disaster as secretary of defense. He was the wrong choice by a president who has made nothing but wrong choices in his nominations. Resignation is probably the wrong word. Inside observers are saying he was fired as a scapegoat for Obama's foreign policy disasters.

First of all, Chuck Hagel was over his head when he took the job of Secretary of the Dod. A sergeant is not equipped with the skilled knowledge or talent that is need to run this massive department. I was surprised to see him get the job to begin with and not a four star general. But, must of the four star folks would not get the job, because they would disagree with Obama's leadership and micromanagement of all departments within his administration. Some of the information coming forth indicates that he was at odds with Susan (it was a video) Rice and some other close Obama micromanaging advisors who disagreed with Hagel's truth about the wars and National security as it pertains to the DoD.
So, I must take my hat off to Hagel for standing up to the micromanagers and the Obama doctrine. This is why he had to go.
