Hat tip Jihad Watch
Jihad Watch is running an article on Mehmet Kaplan, a Muslim leader and politician in Sweden who is calling for more money to Swedish mosques in order to combat "Islamophobia"

Mehmet Kaplan was previously mentioned here as part of my investigation into the Olive Tree Initiative, a UC Irvine instituted program that pretends to be balanced as to the Israel-Palestinian conflict. This wolf in sheep's clothing annually takes students from different backgrounds to Israel and the West Bank to be "exposed to both sides of the conflict". In reality, it is heavily weighted to the Palestinian narrative and has as its West Bank contacts activists linked to the International Solidarity Front. In addition, one of its American organizers is one Shannon Shibata, a mysterious figure who was once employed by Stand With Us (a pro-Israel Jewish advocacy group), but who seems to have gone over to the other side. In more recent years, she founded a Swedish NGO called Centre for New Diplomacy. In this posting, I looked at the backgrounds of the board of directors, who were overwhelming anti-Israel. One of them was Mehmet Kaplan. Since then, CND has been re-organized with its HQs in Los Angeles.
Call it guilt by association if you will, but how can OTI employ someone like Shibata, who had as one of her NGO board of directors someone like Kaplan, who among other things, participated in a 2010 flotilla to Gaza and invites hate speakers like Riyadh ul-Haq who preaches armed jihad and hate towards Jews, Christians and Hindus?
What say you, Ms. Shibata? I know you are out there because you once sent in a comment to this site in response to something I wrote. I would appreciate your comment here.
