Kobani About to Fall

Day by day, it appears that the butchers of ISIS are about to capture the town of Kobani on the Syrian-Turkish border. The Turks sit on the border and watch. The US flies sorties hitting ISIS forces on the edge of the town. Yet, ISIS continues to capture more and more of the city. Kurds and Christian refugees stand to be slaughtered.

It is easy for everyone sit look at the other and say, "Why don't you send in ground forces to save Kobani?" The Turks are fully capable and are right there a few hundred meters away. The US, of course, is the most capable. All of the Muslim countries in the region have the highest moral responsibility to stop the ISIS forces who are destroying any last semblance of respect Islam would command. Yet nobody will send in the forces necessary to destroy the ISIS fighters on the ground.

Will Kobani join Srebrenica and Rwanda as names of international shame?

The answer to the question will likely be yes.

Edmund Burke made this statement and it is prophetic:

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Squid,

Nobody is doing anything and evil is triumphing.

Srebenica and Rwanda? You mean the episodes cited by liberal Democrats who wanted to intervene in Syria to stop Assad from killing any more of his own people?

I'm unclear what you advocated doing, Gary. Are we to send in U.S. ground forces, or not? I would be happy to send in Turkish ground forces, but last I knew, neither you nor I, nor President Obama, has the authority to do that.

While you're bashing Islam as having its last shred of credibility on the ropes, why haven't you covered the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to Malama Yousfavzi? Perhaps you didn't care to mention that the award was widely celebrated in her home village, and that most of those celebrating are devout Muslims?

Perhaps we should be calling on the Czechs to arm the Kurds. A rabbi with a very detailed knowledge of Jewish history mentioned recently that the ONLY reason the Jewish forces won the 1947-1948 war is that Joseph Stalin authorized the Czechs to sell them massive quantities of weapons and ammunition, to replace the guns that British authorities had confiscated.

Siarlys,

So I guess it's safe for Maulama to return to her village and her country right? Wrong. She is a refugee in London.
