An Undercover News Investigation of Swedish Mosques

Note: The above video is in Swedish without English sub-titles

The above Swedish news documentary by the Swedish news outlet SVT (Sveriges Television) revolves around two women who in 2013 went undercover to several of the major mosques around Sweden, one posing as an abused wife whose husband had married other women and who had beaten her. Both women wore burkas and full face coverings. Their questions, which they posed to various imans, were:

What should I do if my husband marries other women?

Can I refuse him sex for any reason at any time?

Is he allowed to beat me?

Should I go to the police when he beats me?

One of the women told the imams that this was situation that she was living under with her husband.

In addition, the women were armed with undercover cameras that recorded their conversations with the different imams.

Over and over from one mosque to another, the women were told that they must accept the fact that their husbands were allowed to have as many as four wives. In addition, the "victimized housewife" was advised that she could only refuse her husband sex if she was sick or having her period. As for the beatings, she was advised by almost every imam not to go to the police. Only one iman is shown telling her in no uncertain terms that she should make a report to the police.

Subsequently, an investigative reporter paid a visit to several of the mosques and spoke to their top officials. In discussing the issues that the women had raised, the reporter was told again and again that the mosques always follow Swedish law in these issues. Then they were confronted with the undercover videos. That was followed by evasions and denials. Efforts to bring in the concerned imams who had given the advice were stonewalled.

Surprising that the report saw the light of day given the political correctness in Sweden.
