This is one of the more disgusting images I have seen at any event in the US. In Chicago, at a pro-Hamas rally, they were actually passing out literature from Julius Streicher's Der Stuermer, a virulently anti-Semitic weekly that was popular in Nazi Germany.

There is no explaining this one away. There is no saying that it is all about opposition to Israel's policies or Zionism. This is blatant Jew hatred, and it is becoming more and more open.
Just this past Sunday, I walked among pro-Palestinian demonstrators at the Federal Building in Westwood (W.L.A.) with a couple of signs that stated that anti-Semitism was wrong and not welcome in America. The first people who objected tried to say that their protests had nothing to do with Jews, per se, and, after all, Arabs were Semites too. Within minutes, I had an older Arab man railing at me about all the bad things Jews were doing in the world which led to everybody being anti-Semites and finishing off by repeatedly yelling, "F*** You" at me.
But this imagery in Chicago is much worse. Where in the Hell is our "Uniter-in-Chief", Barack Obama and his hate crime attorney general, Eric Holder? When will they at least speak out on this evil? How can they stand by while these outrages are occurring. Call it free speech if you will, but now is the time for our leaders to take the moral reins and say something to the effect that this crap has no place in America.

Faking sincerity is hard stuff but once you have it down, it can take years before the idiots will catch on.
I just read a fascinating comment by an Iranian Shia Muslim who comments regularly at The American Conservative. (His name is Mohammed). He details that Sayid Qutb was influenced by a former Vichy official to incorporate anti-Semitism into his own private vision of pure Islam. Makes sense -- despite Gary's efforts to paint Islam as having been consistently anti-Semitic throughout its history, most places and most centuries it wasn't, and you really have to dig deep into dubious haddith concocted long after Muhammad was dead to make out a case otherwise. But Vichy France to Sayid Qutb. That makes sense. He was just on the rebound from being shocked by seeing some teens dancing in the basement of a church in Colorado, so he was highly susceptible.

Forget about Qutb. He did not invent anti-Semitism in Islam. Forget the hadiths you don't think are valid. Read the references to Jews in the Koran. Mohamed was still alive then (not exactly a coincidence if you get my drift.)
Yes Gary, Muhammad fought with a lot of fractious tribes in Arabia, some of them Jewish, and killed quite a number. Then he died, and his successors made alliances with Jews from Jerusalsem to Iberia, which earned the Jews a reasonably privileged place in the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates.
To make anti-Semitism a consistent feature of Islam requires screeds written centuries later. Forget Qutb? Methinks that would be dangerous. Forget the haddiths? Certainly... and you will stop quoting them?
