Christine Tasin Fined in France for Insulting Islam

Well, I have just learned a new French word-saloperie-which apparently means a pile of crap or filth according to the linked article, but trash/rubbish according to my dictionaries. That word has cost French woman Christine Tasin 1,500 Euros from a French court which has convicted her of blaspheming Islam.

Here below is what got her in trouble.



So Ms Tasin joins company with Dutch politician Geert Wilders and Austrian Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, who have found themselves prosecuted in their own countries for speaking ill of Islam.

And if the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has its way, such legislation would be in force world-wide even as non-Muslims in Muslim-majority countries face severe persecution.

Unfortunately, world events and the behavior of many Muslims in the West are causing the numbers of people with similar views to increase everyday. I suspect the recent horrors in Iraq and Syria by ISIS are resulting in dramatic such increases.

Respect is a two-way street. If Muslims want an end to such expressions, ending the wars, the violence, the atrocities, the forced conversions, and the intolerance toward other religions would go a long way.
