A Yazidi Plea for Help in the Iraqi Parliament

Hat tip Gallia Watch and MEMRI TV

In this moving plea for help, a Yazidi woman pleads for Iraqis in the Iraqi Parliament to do something to save the tens of thousands of Yazidis stranded on Sinjar Mountain in Iraq as they flee from ISIS. (The Yazidis are a minority sect in Iraq that is considered heretic by mainstream Muslims.)

Note that the speaker of the parliament tries to cut her off when she says that her people are being killed in the name of Allah.

The Iraqi parliament is even more dysfunctional than the American congress, and has even less respect from its own people. They have to get themselves functional before they can save anyone.

Yazidis worship al-Lah (The God), so before anyone in or out of the Iraqi parliament gets bent out of shape interpretation the woman's words, its important to recognized that Muslims worship The God, not some god named Allah. Maronite Christians open prayers to the Virgin Mary "Ya Oum al-Lah."

Yes, people are being killed in the name of God. There is no credible evidence that al-Lah has authorized this slaughter, in Arabic or any other language.

Incidentally, one factor that will eventually undermine ISIS's prestige, such as it is, would be local resentment that Tunisians and Pakistanis are giving orders at gunpoint to native Iraqis. Every little bit counts.
