We Condemn the Murder of Mohammed Abu Khdeir

The Jewish blog Elder of Ziyon has posted a condemnation of the murder of a Palestinian teenager (Mohammed Abu Khdeitr). At this point, six Israelis have been charged, and three have reportedly confessed.

As much as we are outraged by the murder of the three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank, we cannot condone the retaliatory murder of Khdeir, which was carried out in a horrific fashion (He was burned to death.)

I have added my name to those bloggers who have signed on to the list. It is the only decent thing to do. We can and should point out that Israel has a justice system to deal with these crimes as opposed to the Palestinians, who have mostly celebrated the killing of the three Israeli teenagers (Naftali Fraenkel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar). We can and should point out that Israeli society-as opposed to Palestinian society- will not celebrate the horrific act nor praise the killers as heroes.

But we cannot condone murder.
