The Murder of an Arab Teen in Jerusalem

This week, I wrote that one of the differences between the Israelis and the Arabs was that Israelis don't kidnap and murder Palestinian teenagers as was the case with the three Israeli teenagers who were abducted and killed in the West Bank. No sooner did I write that than word came out that an Arab teen was found murdered in Jerusalem in apparent retaliation. Of course, I could have gone back to my post and deleted that line, but why should I do that other than I could? I would rather deal with it and talk about it openly.

In some quarters, claims are being made that it was "an inside job"; that the boy was not taken and murdered by Israelis. I don't know, and we will have to await more facts coming out. I will say this, however:. First of all, there is no way to condone this act, and I hope that the perpetrators are arrested and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

The second point that must be made is that unlike Palestinian society, Israel has laws and a justice system to deal with this. While the "government" in Gaza (Hamas) celebrated the crime against the three Israeli teens, the Israeli government has condemned the killing of the Arab boy and is looking for the killer(s).  In fact, Hamas is believed to actually be behind the triple homicide.

And therein lies the basic difference between Israeli society and Arab society. Israel is civilized and believes in the rule of law. Arab society is dysfunctional, violent, and celebrates killing. Who among the Palestinians and the wider Arab world was speaking out and condemning the murders of the three Israeli boys? Of course, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas issued a statement, but he was expected to since the PA is  receiving all that aid and was ostensibly helping in the search. But that's about it. Even the Western supporters of the Palestinians were referring to the victims as "squatters" and illegal settlers.

If the killer(s) of the Arab boy turn out to be Israelis, then Israel will have an opportunity to demonstrate through its justice system the difference between them and their enemies. Hopefully, the Western press will take note.

I read that one of the three murdered boys' uncle also said that there is no difference between blood and blood, all the murders are unacceptable.

Word from Chicago is that you can never take Findalis's word for what the facts on the ground are, she tends to hallucinate.

Interestingly enough, in less than a week the Israelis have already arrested I believe 6 for the crime, and are hunting for more. I do not recall any reports of any arrests by the "Palestinians" of any suspects in the murders of the three teenagers. Shows you the difference.
