Were it not for the millions of letters and petition signatures from around the world and behind the scenes diplomacy, this poor woman would have been executed long ago. It should serve as a cautionary warning to all of us as to what we are facing.

What WE are facing? I thought this is where she is coming for refuge... But can this country take in another refugee, just because she was threatened with violence and death in her homeland?
(P.S. A few of those letters were mine... and my Democratic congress rep responded positively.)
